Is Adoption Right For You?

When there are no easy options, some women and couples ask: Could adoption be right for me and my baby? We’re here to help you explore all your pregnancy options, including the choices adoption has to offer.

We offer free information about the adoption process and referrals to adoption agencies that best meet your needs. In most cases, financial assistance for medical and living expenses is available for the birth mother, along with many other benefits.

There is plenty of time to consider whether adoption is the right parenting choice for your child . . . what kind of family you want to place your child in . . . and how much ongoing contact you want with him or her?

You have the right to understand how adoption could affect you and to receive support, including counseling during and after your pregnancy.

How Do I Make An Adoption Plan?

You may be overwhelmed with an unplanned pregnancy. You are not alone. We understand how difficult this is. Adoption can be a tough choice, but it can also be the best option.

You may be working or going to school, having financial or relationship issues, or you’re already taking care of others. Consider adoption today.

Types of Adoptions

As the birth mother, you choose the adoption plan you’re comfortable with. Every state has different laws regarding a birth father’s rights and a professional adoption specialist will know what is required in your area.

Closed Adoption Plan

If you decide you want to remain anonymous, you choose a closed adoption plan. Some women feel remaining anonymous helps them move on with their lives.

Open or Semi-Open Adoption Plan

If you would like to have ongoing contact with the adoptive family and your child, you would make an open or semi-open adoption plan. These include getting one another’s personal information like full names, addresses, emails, or even phone numbers with the adoptive family you choose.

In an open adoption, you would have direct contact with them. Together, you arrange meetings and communicate regularly. With a semi-open adoption, you would have contact, but through a third party such as the adoption agency or lawyer.

Choose based on what’s most comfortable for you and your future.
